United's FA Cup success has left Sir Jim Ratcliffe's head in a spin regarding Ten Hag's future

MANCHESTER UNITED have held talks with Thomas Frank and Mauricio Pochettino over the manager's role at Old Trafford, according to reports.

Current boss Erik ten Hag is still waiting to learn his fate despite leading the club to a second trophy in as many seasons yesterday.

Ten Hag masterminded an underdog 2-1 victory over Man City under the Wembley arch to lift the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

But the Dutchman's future still hangs in the balance after seeing his United side finish rock bottom of their Champions League group and have their worst ever league campaign - an eighth place finish.

According to the Telegraph, minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the bigwigs at United have been preparing replacements for Ten Hag before announcing a decision on his future.

They claim that Man Utd have held discussions with Brentford boss Thomas Frank and newly unemployed manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Manchester club have also held talks with Kieran McKenna, who has led Ipswich Town to two consecutive promotions.

Reports suggest that Frank, Pochettino and McKenna join England manager Gareth Southgate on the list of potential candidates for Ten Hag's job.

Ten Hag himself gave a defiant response when asked about what lies ahead for the former Ajax tactician.

Speaking following the FA Cup final, he said: "Two trophies in two seasons and three finals. That’s not bad.

"If they don’t want me any more, I will go somewhere else to win trophies. That is what I do."
