Liverpool are yet to make a single signing this summer, with Euro 2024 and the Copa America complicating transfer business for many clubs.

Players who are currently away on international duty are currently focused on those tournaments, which are not due to end until next month. However, Liverpool are exploring their options now that Arne Slot has started work as Jurgen Klopp's replacement.

As explained this week, Liverpool have three areas they are looking to strengthen if the right player becomes available, but continuity is largely expected after a busy summer last year.

With that in mind, here are the latest rumours from Anfield, involving both possible ins and outs.

Gordon swap backfires

Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon has been linked with a move to Liverpool, with the Magpies looking to meet the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Newcastle are thought to need to sell players before June 30 in order to comply with PSR and understands they approached Liverpool over selling the England international.

However, talks ultimately broke down when it was suggested that defender Jarell Quansah could move in the opposite direction.

Liverpool urged to sign Kimmich

Liverpool have been told to do everything they can to sign Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich this summer.

Speaking to Betfred, ex-Liverpool defender Glen Johnson said: "Yes, absolutely, especially if he's available for a cut-price fee. He's played for a top club and won everything that there is to win.

"These players are hard to come by, so if you can get him for less than you'd usually have to pay, then it's a no-brainer. They should do whatever they can to sign him."

Diaz latest

Despite reports from Spain suggesting Liverpool's interest in the likes of Gordon and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia mean they could sell Luis Diaz to Barcelona, that has been denied.

Barcelona are interested in the winger, but the Liverpool Echo state that the club will only consider selling him if they receive an offer north of the £50m they paid Porto for Diaz in 2022 and Barcelona's ongoing financial problems mean it is extremely unlikely they would be able to afford him.

Diaz has three years left on his current contract and stated last month: "The truth is that I am very happy to be here. Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that."
