Anyone who has ever flown will know that it's not the most comfy experience ever, but most of us can overlook that temporary discomfort because soon the sun, sea and sand will be within reach.
However, one couple has shared a method "most people" overlook when flying, and it can make your flight so much comfier - for one of you at least.
Social media user @gavinandjess took to TikTok to explain that when you're choosing seats, if you're tactical about it, you can sit together - but far more comfortably. The video was captioned: "Me and middle seats don't get along", and many people who have ever boarded an aircraft will feel the same.
Over the top of the clip, which garnered 205k likes, it read: "Most people are content to sit in the middle seat (aka be trapped) just to sit next to their partner.
"While my fiancé and I will literally pretend not to know each other so we can sit across the aisle from each other and both be comfy".
Widow brings pillow with late husband's face on it to pub every New Year's EveWhile pretending not to know each other isn't compulsory, many others flocked to the comments to say it was also their favourite way to travel.
"The cross aisle combo is great and my preference", someone penned. Another shared her hack: "My husband and I don’t sit together either. He prefers aisle while I prefer window, so we don’t know each other for a few hours." A woman shared: "People don’t understand why I would kill for an aisle seat, but trust me, I would."
Some explained the reasons they prefer to sit next to their partner, however, with one writing: "I’d rather be cramped in next to my partner than a stranger though."
A TikToker typed: "I considered this when buying our tickets recently, but realised I wanted him to lean on for sleeping purposes."
One woman shared: "My husband is so broad he goes into the seat next to him so I sit in the middle because I don’t think it’s fair for someone else to have to endure that misery!"
