Fans of Glastonbury headliner SZA have shared their devastation for the star as she attracted a small crowd.

The American singer-songwriter is Sunday night's headliner at the iconic festival on Worthy Farm. She followed Friday night's performance from Dua Lipa and Saturday's set from Coldplay. However, just before taking to the stage many fans noticed SZA drew in a much smaller crowd than the previous nights.

Viewers watching from home also noticed the vast space between fans as they gathered at the Pyramid Stage. The Mirror's reporter at Glastonbury shared how fans had much more room around them while waiting for SZA to take to the stage compared to Friday and Saturday nights.

Fans shared their heartbreak for SZA online as one said: "The Pyramid Stage looks empty :(, thought was a strange one having SZA on the Sunday especially, hope she puts on the performance of the festival! #Glastonbury." Another added: "oh dear.... not a very big showing for Sza. #Glastonbury." Someone else commented: "Is it the @bbcglasto camera angles I’m seeing or is the #PyramidStage pretty quiet @glastonbury.

"I don’t know @sza but sad to see it so quiet on the last day." A fourth wrote: "It’s a quite big crowd but it’s not a Sunday night headline crowd is it? #Glastonbury." One fan said the lineup should have been flipped as they shared: "SZA, Dua Lipa, Coldplay. That should’ve been the order of the headliners this year in my opinion but #Glastonbury #Glastonbury2024." A fan added: "I am a massive Glastonbury geek, looking at the webcam and BBC pictures the crowd awaiting Sza looks very small by headliner standards…"

Someone else suggested: "SZA was probably better suited to The Other Stage honestly but fair play for getting a Pyramid Stage headliner slot." SZA got a vastly bigger crowd on Saturday night as she performed at BST Hyde Park, in London. BST sources say she pulled in 50,000 punters, which appears to dwarf the number of people watching her at Glastonbury. But all in all, it’s been a pretty lucrative weekend for the star, as she would have picked up about £500,000 for BST, and around £200,000 for her Glastonbury headline set.

SZA appeared to face some sound issues as she began her headline set on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury 15 minutes late. The star treated fans at Worthy Farm to hits including Love Galore, the day after her headline show at British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park.

The singer, whose real name is Solana Rowe, appeared on stage on an elevated podium to perform the intro to her hit PSA. She was then lowered down to the stage which was adorned with elaborate pillars and a large insect, which she sat on for one number. She asked her assembled fans : “Do I have any day ones in the crowd?”

SZA also performed hits including F2F, I Hate U and Kiss Me More, her collaboration with Doja Cat. She appeared in a patterned body suit and flat boots with neon laces that ran up to her thighs. SZA brandished two swords during her rendition of her track Kill Bill on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. The musician showed off her samurai skills for the track, which takes its name from the Quentin Tarantino film starring Uma Thurman.

SZA changed into a forest green gown adorned with leaves, teamed with metallic wings, for her track Supermodel, from her debut album Ctrl. During track Nobody Gets Me, she climbed up a large fallen tree trunk that adorned her set and sat on an elevated platform on the tree.

When the 34-year old was announced as one of the headline shows for this years event, many were unsure on who she was, if she was a singer, a DJ or even a band. SZA, pronounced 'scissor' - whose real name is Solana Imani Rowe - is an American R&B singer-songwriter and has released two studio albums, three EPs, one live album, and 44 singles (11 of which as a featured artist). She has become one of the most most listened-to artists globally and certainly warrants a top place on the line-up alongside Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Shania Twain.

She's a versatile musician who can rap, as well as belt out a ballad just as easily. Her skewed electronic pop has become widely recognised, and she has quickly gained a decorated career. Earlier in the day, pop-punk star Avril Lavigne attracted a huge crowd as she performed on the Other Stage.

So many fans rushed to see the Sk8er Boi singer that the arena became too full. Some music lovers had to watch her performances through a metal gate as they battled a bottleneck of other fans wanting to catch her performance.
