MIKE Brewer has teased the restoration of the "ultimate muscle car" on Wheeler Dealers' Australian tour.

The star revealed that his team had dubbed the motor "Bruce" and would be "taking it to the gym", despite a warning from his wife.

In a clip posted to X, Mike said: "Tonight is the next episode of the brand new series of Wheeler Dealers' world tour.

"It's the first of our Australian episodes, we're really excited about it.

"We went and got the ultimate '90s Australian muscle car, Bruce as we call it.

"We take Bruce to the gym...we made it go faster.

"It was absolutely brilliant to make."

Bruce turned out to be a 2005 Ford Falcon XR-8, which Mike and his co-star Marc 'Elvis' Priestley souped up to take part in a race with its historic rival - the Holden GTS.

Former F1 mechanic Marc set about upgrading the fast Ford, including a new exhaust system to make it "sound irresistible" to potential buyers later on in the episode.

And they did indeed manage to attract a customer and sell the car on for just over £15,000 (AUS $29,000).

Considering they bought it for £12,500 and spent £14,500 restoring it, the team actually took quite a loss on this one.

But Mike and Marc seemed more than satisfied with the project after hearing it around a scenic racetrack at Mount Panorama in New South Wales.

And in his preview clip, Mike suggested that wouldn't be all they were doing as he mentioned that he got the chance to drive the Interceptor from the original Mad Max film.

The Pursuit Special, which was actually a heavily modified Falcon, was driven by Mel Gibson in the 1979 action flick.

However, Mike's wife was quick to warn him against giving too much away, saying: "Too much information.

"Tune in, tune in."

It comes after Mike showed of the "most expensive car" ever bought in the show's history.
