Despite being aged only nine years old, Princess Charlotte already has a pretty sophisticated palate, according to her mother Princess Kate.
While most kids are likely to turn their nose up at some of adults' favourite snack foods - instead preferring often anything that comes in a colourful package or tastes nice and sweet - this young royal's snack of choice is decidedly grown up.
Perfectly appropriate for a member of the Royal Family, Charlotte's tastes in food are seemingly already pretty cultivated, and Kate gave the game away on her daughter's go-to snack while she was visiting a primary school in North London back in 2019, when Charlotte was only three years old, making the preference pretty remarkable for a tiny toddler.
When Kate visited the Lavender Primary School, she revealed that "Charlotte loves olives" while she was there. The princess was visiting the school to mark Children's Mental Health Week and was tasked with bringing along an item that 'makes her happy' - she opted for a sweet family photo of herself, William, George, Charlotte, and Louis, on the grounds of the Norfolk home Anmer Hall.
The year before, in 2018, Kate visited Great Ormond Street Hospital where she revealed to a young patient that she had also been a huge fan of munching on olives when she was around Charlotte's age - indicating perhaps that her daughter takes after her in more ways than one. "I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well," she said to a four-year-old patient.
Brit 'saw her insides' after being cut open by propeller on luxury diving tripThese days Kate's own snack of choice is arguably not quite as sophisticated as the toddler go-to of herself and her daughter, with Hello reporting that when Kate fancies something to munch on she grabs a bag of popcorn. "During the royal tour of Canada and the USA in 2014, Kate's passion for popcorn was revealed when she and William attended a basketball game in New York. Kate was spotted enjoying a bucket of the tasty snack with William at an NBA game, occasionally reaching into the bag throughout the match."
However, Kate who is known for her enviable athleticism and sporty nature, also has been reported to go for superfoods like Goji Berries in between meals when she fancies a bite to eat, alongside raw veggies and fruits, and to grab a green juice as healthy and tasty drink.
