Mason Greenwood looks set to move on from Manchester United this summer despite paying farewell to loan club Getafe.

The striker has spent the season with the La Liga side after being suspended by United following charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. The Crown Prosecution Service eventually discontinued their case against Greenwood.

Greenwood joined Getafe last summer, scoring 10 times in 46 games, though has bid farewell to the Spanish team. He said: "Thank you for making me feel welcome and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my team-mates and club. A bitter-sweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best."

It is currently unclear what Greenwood's plans are for next season, though a move appears almost certain. Here, Mirror Football looks at five of Greenwood's potential options over the summer window.

Getafe

A return to Getafe would benefit all parties, with Greenwood having enjoyed his season on loan there. He became a regular starter at the Estadio Coliseum and ended the campaign at second in their scoring charts.

Whether they would be available to afford a transfer fee is uncertain. But he could certainly return to the Spanish side on loan or even on a free transfer if United decide to rip up his contract to facilitate a move.

Barcelona

Barcelona have long been linked with a move for Greenwood, as they parepare for a rebuild under expected new boss Hansi Flick. With Robert Lewandowski approaching the end of his career, Barca could do with a new striker.

But their financial position means that their options in the market will be extremely limited. That could lead them to a cut-price move for Greenwood, who would likely jump at the chance to play for the Catalan giants.

Valencia

A move to Spain would appear to be Greenwood's likeliest outcome and several teams are eyeing him. Valencia are another side to have been heavily linked with the former England international.

They finished higher than Getafe last season, but below Barcelona. That could make them an attractive option for Greenwood, though again it is unknown how much they would be willing to spend on him.

Napoli

With Victor Osimhen seemingly on his way out, Napoli will be searching for a striker this summer. They have reportedly already held talks with United over a potential deal in the summer.

Napoli endured a dreadful season, finishing 10th in Serie A having won the title the year before. The chance to test himself in Italy would be an attractive proposition for Greenwood, having played in the Premier League and La Liga.

Man Utd

While unlikely to be brought back into the first-team fold, Greenwood could concievably spend the final year of his contract training at United. The Red Devils may struggle to sell Greenwood this summer.

And if they are unable to, they may be forced to keep him at the club. United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already opened the door to a potential stay for Greenwood, though it does appear to be the least likely of all the options listed.
