Brazilian side Fluminense 'announced' the signing of Erling Haaland from Manchester City, only for it to be confirmed that their official website was hacked.
An article was published on the Fluminense website on Monday confirming that Haaland, who scored 38 goals in 45 appearances this season, had joined the club "after intense negotiations and a great effort from our board". It was added that his arrival "will be a decisive milestone in the turnaround of our season".
However, according to Brazil outlet GE, their website was hacked by a Twitter user and the problem was resolved at around midnight. Haaland missed out on winning the FA Cup over the weekend and could feature for Norway in friendlies against Kosovo and Denmark early next month.
This comes as fans go wild for the signing of Thiago Silva. Over 30,000 supporters have already secured a ticket to watch Silva be unveiled at the Maracana. Fluminense are back in action when they face Alianza Lima in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday as they look to continue their strong start to the competition.
Silva joined Fluminense earlier this month after confirming he would leave Chelsea after four successful years. The Blues agreed that Silva can join his new Fluminense team-mates prior to his registration transferring on 1 July. He has signed a two-year contract with the Brazilian giants.
5 talking points as Chelsea lose top-four ground in meek Nottingham Forest drawIn an emotional video to the Chelsea fans, Silva said upon announcing his departure: "Chelsea means a lot to me. I came here with the intention of only staying for a year and it ended up being four years. Not just for me but for my family, too.
"My sons play for Chelsea so it’s a source of great pride to be a part of the Chelsea family – literally because my sons are here. I hope they can continue their careers here at this victorious club that many players wish to be part of.
"I think in everything I did here over the four years, I always gave my all. But, unfortunately, everything has a start, a middle and an end. That doesn’t mean that this is a definitive end. I hope to leave the door open so that in the near future I can return, albeit in another role here. But…it’s an indescribable love. I can only say thank you."
Silva joined the Blues from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2020 and helped them win the Champions League during his first season at the club. He then guided them to a third place finish in the Premier League and instantly became a cult hero among the Chelsea supporters, who took to him straight away.
He continued to be a key figure at the heart of the back four and made 38 appearances last season as the Blues finished sixth. In total, Silva scored nine goals in 155 matches for Chelsea.
