Leicester City have kicked off yet another search for a new manager after Enzo Maresca's exit.

The Italian - who led the Midlands side to an instant return to the Premier League - has been tempted by the vacancy at Chelsea. Maresca is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

Leicester now need to fill the vacancy left by Maresca. It is the third time that they have been forced to appoint a new boss in the past year following the exits of Brendan Rodgers, Dean Smith and now Maresca.

Mirror Football has already compiled a host of options that the Foxes could turn to. Take a look at some of the runners and riders in the race so far:

Graham Potter

While Maresca prepares to take over at Stamford Bridge, one of his predecessors could be an option for Leicester. Graham Potter has been out of work since being sacked by the Blues.

That does not mean that there hasn’t been interest. Potter has been linked to posts at Ajax and Nice - as well as Manchester United.

Leicester had Potter on their managerial shortlist in the past when he was still at Brighton. Whether the 49-year-old fancies being parachuted into a possible relegation battle at Leicester remains to be seen.

Carlos Corberan

One of the names reported to be in the running to replace Maresca, Spaniard Carlos Corberan has impressed at West Brom over recent seasons. The former Huddersfield and Olympiacos boss was appointed at the Hawthorns in October 2022 and successfully guided the Baggies away from relegation from the Championship.

His excellent work continued last term. After limited activity in the transfer market, he earned West Brom a place in the play-offs.

They were defeated by eventual winners Southampton. Corberan only penned a new deal last year so Leicester might have work on their hands to tempt him across the Midlands.

David Moyes

Should the Foxes want experience, they don’t need to look any further than David Moyes. The Scot impressed at Everton before an infamous spell at Manchester United.

Moyes struggled in his following two appointments before arriving at West Ham. He stabilised the Hammers during his first spell before guiding them to three consecutive seasons of European football during his second.

Moyes also won the Europa Conference League at West Ham. He was let go at the end of his contract so would be available straight away.

Steve Cooper

Another manager who currently finds himself out of work, Steve Cooper worked near miracles at Leicester’s Midland neighbours Nottingham Forest. In his first season at the club, he ended Forest’s long exile from the Premier League by winning the play-offs.

The club spent heavily under Cooper’s watch and it was just enough to see them secure safety in the top-flight. Forest’s struggles continued the following campaign and Cooper was subsequently sacked in December last year in place of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Cooper has yet to return to management so a deal would be relatively easy to do.

Rafa Benitez

One left-field choice could potentially be former Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez. The Spaniard enjoyed success with each of those clubs in the Premier League.

He has also enjoyed spells at Valencia, Inter Milan, Napoli and Real Madrid. Benitez’s last post in the Premier League was with Everton but that went disastrously.

Since then, he has been with Celta Vigo but was sacked in March. Benitez previously held talks with Leicester about a move to the King Power Stadium in April last year but they opted for Dean Smith instead.
