Kelly Rowland has poured her heart out about what really happened at the Cannes Film Festival where she scolded a security guard - saying that other people that didn't look like her weren't scolded.
The Destiny's Child star insisted she had her boundaries and made the right call. She told AP News: "That woman knows what happened. I know what happened. I have a boundary and I stand by those boundaries.”
Kelly's brave interview has sparked a race debate. She added: "There were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me and they didn’t get scolded, or pushed off, or told to get off. I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground.”

Kelly has now admitted that she felt targeted by the security guard who ushered her along the carpet.
While walking a red carpet, Kelly found herself in a confrontation with a security guard who was escorting her. The singer pointed a finger in the guard's face as she told her off in the heat of the moment.
A lip reader told Page Six that Kelly said: “Don’t talk to me like that. Don’t talk to me like that. You’re not my mother. I told you not to talk to me like that.” However, the star didn't confirm if that's exactly what went down in the conversation.
Fans appeared to be taking Kelly's side in the drama. A fan on Instagram wrote: "I can tell it hurts her to be treated that way. People don’t talk about how it’s painful to HAVE to stand your ground."
"What a classy response and statement to such an infuriating experience," one added. A third said: "Painful to see the hurt in her eyes. Glad she stood up for herself. It takes a toll being strong."
After the Kelly incident, it was revealed the unnamed security guard got in altercations with a few stars during her stint in Cannes. Throughout the annual film festival - which ran from May 14 to 25 in Cannes, France - the guard has been caught in tension-filled moments with Yoona, Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland, and actress Massiel Taveras.
Dominican actress Massiel Taveras seemed to find herself in a very similar situation as Kelly on the red carpet as she was captured having a heated encounter with the same guard. In a viral clip on X, formerly Twitter, the star was seen walking down the red carpet in a white gown with a massive train featuring what seemed to be the face of Jesus on it that she was unfolding when she was scolded by the employee.
As she went up the stars, Massiel was seen talking to the security guard as the guard held her arm up attempting to rush her up the stairs. And as she paused to attempt to situate her dress, Massiel was seen shoving the security guard's arm way from her. After this, Massiel turned to wave to her fans before the guard once again put her arm up and tried to move her from the carpet. Neither party has spoken out on the encounter since it took place.

While Yonna didn't exchange any words with the guard, it was clear that she was frustrated and upset by the encounter from her facial expression and body language. Yoona has yet to speak out on the incident.
Following all of the controversy, many fans are calling for the security guard to be fired from her position after so many tense encounters. In the wake of all the news, the security guard's fellow staffer spoke out and defended her actions in the incident involving Kelly. The unnamed employee told the Daily Mail: "She was an usher working under a lot of pressure to keep people on the carpet moving, so as to stop crowds building up," and added: "There was no pushing or shoving, or scolding. Security and safety are the priorities, along with keeping to strict timetables set according to contracts — even the celebrities have to stick to the rules."
