Ex-footballer Ze Roberto has carved out a tremendous physique for himself despite it being 26 years since he lifted the Champions League trophy.

The 49-year-old celebrates his 50th birthday in just over a month. But you wouldn't think so if you took a peek at his unbelievably ripped body that he's worked on since his hanging up his boots in 2017.

The ex-Brazil international enjoyed stints at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, winning the Champions League with the former back in 1998 before he embarked on an eight-year stint in Germany. That also included a four-year tenure with Bayer Leverkusen and four Bundesliga titles during his time in Munich.

After calling time on his career as a 43-year-old in 2017, the Brazilian has certainly undergone a transformation from his usually lean figure on the football field to a now impressively ripped physique that is a major fixture on his social media.

Alongside his role as a technical advisor to former club Palmeiras, Roberto is also a personal trainer as he revealed why he was able to enjoy a 23-year career in football. He told local media in the past: "I have no vices. I don’t drink alcoholic beverages, I don’t smoke, I eat very well, I sleep well.

"I have my family, which is my greatest security. I think those are important factors to reach the age I reached and still continue playing at a high level."

In 2020, Roberto went as far to say that his physique is even more impressive than Cristiano Ronaldo, who's reported to spend $1million (£783,000) a year working on his body's fitness and physique. The Sao Paulo native claimed: "Today I would say that I have a better physique [than Ronaldo], because I played until I was 43-years-old," when speaking to TyC Sports.

"If he (Ronaldo) does [play until then], I will say it is him." Given the Portuguese's performances out in Saudi Arabia, it doesn't appear he'll be retiring any time soon.

Ronaldo has previously spoken of his diet patterns, encouraging others to: "Eat regularly. If you train regularly it’s important to keep energy levels high to fuel your body for better performance.

"I sometimes eat up to six smaller meals a day to make sure I have enough energy to perform each session at top level."
