The Ryanair flight to Tenerife had just landed when a brawl allegedly broke out amongst a stag party, with six people - believed to include British citizens - arrested in connection with the fracas

Six people have been arrested after a fracas broke out on a UK flight to Tenerife.

The Ryanair flight from London Stansted had only just hit the tarmac in the Canary Islands when the brawl is said to have erupted, which reportedly broke out among a stag party. Police have not specified the detainees’ gender or nationalities, but it’s believed at least some of those arrested are British.

According to Spanish newspaper Diario de Avisos, the fight broke out on the runway at Tenerife Sur-Reina Sofía airport. The incident occurred this Friday shortly after the flight in which those involved were travelling landed on the island at 2.30pm.

"According to witnesses to the events, a group of approximately 15 people who were celebrating a bachelor party clashed with three other people and at least one of them was injured," the newspaper reports. "The confrontation took place when disembarking from the Ryanair plane, from Stansted airport, London, just before boarding the bus that would take them to the baggage claim area. Several images of the altercation capture the moments of tension experienced, where people are seen without shirts."

The Civil Guard quickly intervened in the incident to arrest six of those involved in the brawl. Passengers and airport staff were reported to be very alarmed and concerned about the incident.

The authorities are investigating the details of what happened to determine exactly what happened. The Mirror has contacted Ryanair for comment.
