Police are hunting a knifeman after a stabbing near HMP Birmingham. A man suffered serious injuries after he was knifed in the early hours of the morning.
Emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing in Winson Green, at around 4.20am today, Tuesday, August 27. West Midlands Police said they rushed to Preston Road, just off the A4040 Handsworth New Road, after a 30-year-old man was assaulted. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made. Police inquiries are ongoing.
A police spokesman told BirminhgamLive: "We are investigating after a man was stabbed in Birmingham. We were called to Preston Road shortly after 4am after a 30-year-old man was assaulted.
"He was taken to hospital, though his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. Our officers are carrying out further enquiries at the scene this morning and anyone who saw what happened can contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting log number 406 of 27 August."
