A suspect has been arrested after a knife attack at the Holocaust memorial in Berlin left at least one person severely injured.
The stabbing took place around 6pm between the US Embassy and the Holocaust memorial in the centre of Berlin.
A suspect has been apprehended by Berlin’s police force, who said an investigation is still ongoing.
An ambulance rushed the seriously injured victim to hospital after the attack.

Berlin Police said on X: ‘Our officers have arrested a suspect near the crime scene.
‘The person’s identity is being checked and the investigation is ongoing.’
Emergency vehicles have flooded the scene, as several witnesses to the stabbing are being treated for shock.
Tagesppiegel reports the attack took place on the northern side of the sprawling Holocaust monument, near the US Embassy.
The crime scene has been cordoned off and officers are searching the area, according to Bild newspaper.
The perpetrator was first reported to have fled the scene and witnesses claimed they saw a man running away from the incident.
Police spokesman Florian Nath said earlier: ‘The victim is a male, injured by a stabbing weapon. He is in hospital. The identity of the man is not yet known.’

It is not known whether there is a link between the attack and the Holocaust memorial or the US Embassy.
The Holocaust memorial was opened in 2005 and commemorates 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
The memorial consists of 2,711 concrete steles arranged in a grid and covering an area of approximately 19,000 square meters.
Three weeks ago a 36-year-old destroyed wreaths at the memorial and injured two people before being arrested.
