YOU can travel across Spain without spending a penny this summer.
Last July, the Spanish government introduced free rail journeys in a bid to help tackle the cost-of-living crisis in the country.
The initiative allowed passengers to travel on commuter and medium-distance trains for free until December 31, 2022.
According to Euronews, Spain has extended the free train travel scheme until the end of 2023.
And the extension is good news for Brits, because these free tickets can be snapped by anyone - including tourists.

To redeem the free tickets, holidaymakers must travel on commuter and medium-distance trains that are operated by Renfe.
The free tickets aren't valid on high-speed AVE trains that connect popular destinations such as Madrid and Barcelona, but they can be used between multiple cities within regions such as Andalusia.
For example, a train journey from Córdoba to Seville would be free under this scheme as would a trip between Granada and Málaga.
The free train tickets can only be applied to multi-journey tickets and not single tickets.
In order to redeem the tickets, holidaymakers will need to pay a deposit of €10 for commuter trains or €20 for medium-distance trains.
The deposit is then refunded via the Renfe App after 16 one-way journeys have been completed.
But holidaymakers who won't make 16 one-way trips, can still save big on train fares on the network.
The Sun Online Travel Team found that a return journey between Málaga and Granada costs €37.00 (xx).
This means tourists can save nearly €20 per person simply by purchasing the €20 deposit for medium-distance trains.
Tourists who want to take advantage of this offer will need to download the Renfe app, and be ready to enter their passport number.

Spain isn’t the only European country seeking to reduce public transport costs, France and Germany have released 60,000 free trains tickets for those under 27.
The scheme was announced by Clément Beaune and Volker Wissing, the countries' transport ministers.
