CHANNEL FOUR viewers have been reacting to shocking new series Naked Education, which features even more nudity than its sister show Naked Attraction.

Starring Anna Richardson, Dr Alex George and Yinka Bokinni it aims to challenge society’s preconceived ideas about beauty and embrace body positivity.

Dropping this evening at 9pm on C4, the first episode was met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction from people who tuned in.

It featured Hannah, who was bullied for being too tall growing up and which led her to stop eating for a time, and mums Lauren and Libby who opened up about their postnatal struggles.

The episode also introduced five teenagers who Dr Alex and Yinka Bokinni talked to about body hair and the various misconceptions people have about it.

Taking to social media to discuss the show, one viewer commented: “You know what, I just caught the end of #NakedEducation and what a fantastic and important show. The taboo & awkwardness of naked bodies aside, this is a show that all teens & young people should watch.”

“Watching #NakedEducation. These are real bodies. Not your Instagram filtered poses, sucked in stomachs and zero cellulite. The media, fashion industry and social media platforms need to pay attention. This is empowering, real and honest,” wrote another person.

While someone else applauded: “#NakedEducation is brilliant and a great example to show young people to feel good about themselves. @Channel4 doing a great public service once again.”

And a fourth viewer tweeted: “What a powerful show #NakedEducation.”

Of course there were some viewers who felt let down by the channel for showing scenes of nudity before the 9pm watershed and to teenagers.

One outraged person tweeted: "Channel 4 “Naked Education” is NOT it. Showing children under 16 MINORS, people, strangers I should say, standing fully naked in front of them. WHY? Absolutely not. They do NOT need to see strangers fully naked to be educated on the body."

"And all this before the watershed, SHAME ON YOU," added another disgruntled viewer.

While a third person responded to the show: "You can have boundaries and still love yourself. Don't normalise nudity."

During the first part of the six episode show, host Anna was so moved by mums Libby and Lauren that she shared a scar from her ectopic pregnancy.

The two women emotionally discussed the issues they’ve faced after giving birth, which led the presenter to share her own experience and her scar.

In an exclusive interview with TV Mag, Anna, 52, said: “There’s a point in the show where I’m talking to two mums and I say: ‘Here’s my ectopic pregnancy scar from when I was 21, this is what mine looks like.’

“Now my stomach kind of hangs over the top of that scar and I’m quite conscious of it, but your relationship with yourself and your body is a journey and it changes over time."
