While the forecast was wet and gloomy, Carol brightened a lot of people's days with her stylish ensemble.

Carol wore a black pencil skirt with a leopard print blouse, and she received lots of compliments on Twitter.

One BBC Breakfast viewer wrote: "Morning Carol. Stormy here in SW Ireland. I see things bouncing around today, very gusty.

"Love the leopard print top , sexy stunner."

Another added: "For a second I thought you were wearing a tight leather skirt. That would have been awesome. Have a lovely day to a lovely presenter."

A third tweeted: "Good Morning Carol" alongside a love heart emoji.

Last week, Sally Nugent had to make an apology on the show after Jon Kay got distracted behind the scenes during Carol's weather report.

As Carol gave a dazzling forecast, the cameras cut back to the studio where both Sally and Jon could be seen sat on the infamous red sofa with Carol smiling on the screen behind them.

Appearing unfocused, Sally quickly thanked Carol but admitted there had been some chaos in the studio as Carol spoke.

Sally said: "Carol, thank you very much indeed, and Carol I'm really sorry to be slightly distracted at the end of your weather forecast.

"We've been talking about DIY this morning on the programme and nobody can do DIY."

Jon has been attempting to fix a rogue computer mouse using his biro pen but it quickly became clear that attempting to fix it had been more trouble that it was worth.

Sally told Carol: "While you were chatting, Jon's being doing a bit of DIY on the computer mouse here using his biro."

Carol beamed as she quickly responded: "Jon, I'm so impressed! You're a man of many talents."

However, a sheepish Jon was quick to interject and admitted: "Carol, it's not fixed it. It's still broken. Don't be impressed!"

Sally then joked to the BBC viewers not to 'try' it 'at home' as Jon was unable to make any further progress with the broken item.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
