The Joubert Singers’ 1982 hit Stand On The Word rang out as the celebs gathered at Highgate Cemetery, North London, to pay their respects.

At the time of his death three weeks ago, Steve’s widow, fashion editor Katie Grand, 51, wrote online: “After three months in hospital fighting with all his strength and determination we are shocked and devastated to have said goodbye to my brilliant, beautiful husband.”

Sheffield-born Steve, who leaves a son Marley, 26, joined Jarvis Cocker in a reformed Pulp in 1989.

After the band broke up in 2002, he produced songs for Florence and the Machine as well as working as a high-end photographer.
