Saira, 52, was a panelist on the long-running ITV daytime panel show from 2015 until 2021.

But in a new interview, she says her life drastically changed when she started going through the menopause

The star explained: "When I started going through the perimenopause my life was hell, the hot sweats were so extreme that I did not sleep at all.

"My sheets were wet through with perspiration and then I was up about 10 times in the night to the loo.

"It was a very horrible and low time and I felt depressed and down. But then I took HRT and within 3 days of taking it, I was back to my happy energetic self and also got my sleep back."

She was then asked if the lack of sleep affected her sex-life with her husband.

To which the former talkRADIO star then replied: "Yes 100%. If you are tired, the last thing on your mind is to get intimate, you just don’t have the energy."

Earlier on in the interview the controversial TV personality opened up about her career in the industry.

The media personality is the new face of Woolroom's Clean Sleeping is the New Clean Eating campaign.

But Saira admitted that said the uncertain nature of her roles on shows such as Loose Women also affected her day-to-day life due to lack of sleep.

The former ITV personality explained: "Working in TV did have an impact on my sleep because the work is never regular and there are no set times.

"So it was either early mornings, late nights and going to bed feeling mentally exhausted which really impaired my sleep."
