Speaking to Seann Walsh on their Oh My Dog podcast, Jack said: "I had a phone call. My agent said I’d been asked to do Strictly."
Seann, who infamously took part in Strictly in 2018, immediately replied: "Oh my God. Jack, can I just tell you, it does wonders for your career!"
What Ola and James Jordan really ate and did to shed 7stSeann's comment may have been rather tongue in cheek, considering the furore that occurred after he was pictured kissing his Strictly pro partner Katya Jones during the competition.
Jack told him: "The first thing I said was ‘I’ll ask Seann what his advice would be.’ And she said ‘I’ll take that as a no in that case.’ I said ‘It’s probably a safe bet, yes.’"
But Seann, 37, replied: "No, not at all. That is not what I would say. I would say ‘Absolutely go for it.’ I think you’ll be fantastic."
Jack joked: "Yes, I know, but I can’t help but pay attention to the evidence of what has happened to various people I know who’ve done the show.
"I had two thoughts on it, cos obviously everyone loves Claudia Winkleman and she’s everywhere, she’s great, but I thought they should consolidate all the shows that she does so you have a thing where people come on and dance and then members of the public will ring in and vote for who they want to have murdered."
Jack was referencing Claudia's other hit BBC series, The Traitors, and considering his own experience on Strictly, Seann joked back: "I tell you what. I’m glad that programme wasn’t around when I was doing it! I wouldn’t be here now!"
Jack replied: "You wouldn’t, no. I think Strictly Traitors is a thing that has to happen. I do.
"But then I had this other thought that wouldn’t it be lovely to have celebrities dancing with their dogs? Wouldn’t that be great?
"When you came round to my house with Mildred, Mildred was on her hind legs, she didn’t walk on four legs for about 10 minutes, so I reckon she would dance, wouldn’t she?"
Ola and James Jordan detail how weight loss has reignited their sex lifeSeann said: "Why don’t you make that one of the prerequisites for doing Strictly? ‘Yeah I’ll do it but I’ll have to bring Dolly’."
Jack replied: "My partner is gonna be Dolly, yeah. I don’t think it’ll work, so that’s a no."
Fellow comedian Seann Walsh - who took part in Strictly in 2018 - encouraged him to sign up
