The pair will start in Shetland before the series will take them all the way to Norway.
Speaking about the second series, Martin teased: “Me and my buddy, Phil MacHugh, are off again, this time to Norway which means ‘Way of the North’…
“North for some conjures up images of cold bleakness and a tough life, but is it really that? I don’t think so. We are heading to Norway to get some real northern exposure to the life and the people, at work and having fun.”
Meanwhile, presenter Ben Fogle's Scotland’s Sacred Islands has been recommissioned after a hugely successful first series.
The BBC has ordered four brand new episodes as Ben continues his journey of exploring the landscapes and beliefs of several islands.
Ben said: “I’m thrilled to be continuing my spiritual odyssey across some of Scotland’s most special and secret places.
"I travel the world meeting extraordinary people in beautiful lands but the Scottish islands have a magic all of their own.
"Their shared communities and deep connection with the land, air and sea are what I want to explore."
Both shows are expected to broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
