THE second round of Typhlosion raids have started, and there are great rewards on offer for taking it down.
Typhlosion is one of the harder seven-star raids to take down, thanks to its powerful Eruptions.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Typhlosion seven-star raid.
Pokémon SV: Typhlosion raid guide
Luckily for us, Typhlosion is a Fire-type Pokémon with quite a shallow move pool that mostly includes Fire-type moves.
Chespin is the target of 2023’s first community day in Pokémon GoIt will have a Ghost tera-type, and will come with Shadow Ball.
It runs Sunny Day to power up its Eruption which it will launch on the second turn of battle.
It will also use a mix of special and physical-type attacks, so you need to keep both types of defense in mind.
It will also have Flash Fire meaning that it cannot be hit by Fire-type moves.
Here’s the set for Typhlosion:
The Unrivaled Typhlosion - Level 100
- Nature – Mild
- Ability – Flash Fire
- Item – None
- Tera type – Ghost
- Potential moveset – Shadow Ball, Sunny Day, Eruption, Play Rough, Earthquake
Pokémon SV: Typhlosion counters
Eruption can't burn, so we don't have to worry about not bringing a Physical Attacker.
However, as Typhlosion's HP is always high, Eruption is exceptionally powerful.
A Pokémon with fire resistance, or even better immunity is needed for this game.
Dachsbun
Dachsbun is our favourite counter to Typhlosion as Well-baked Body sharply boosts it's defense when hit with Fire-type attacks.
Genshin Impact Dori: Best weapons, artifacts, and teamsTyphlosion will keep using Eruption in spite of this, meaning that Dachsbun can manage later Earthquakes and Play Roughs with ease.
It has super-effective Crunch to use against Typhlosion, while boosting the whole team’s attack with Howl.
Normal tera type will remove its final weakness against Shadow Ball to become unkillable.
Dachsbun - Level 100
- Nature – Careful
- Ability – Well-baked Body
- Item – Shell Bell
- Tera type – Normal
- Potential moveset – Howl, Snarl, Mud Slap, Crunch
Goodra
This is more of a supportive set, as Goodra comes with a huge number of helpful moves, as well as great bulk and typing.
Both Chilling Water and Acid Spray will help weaken Typhlosion, and Rain Dance negates its sun boost.
Using moves that have stat changes as a secondary effect are perfect for raids, where the barrier prevents status moves.
We worry about its damage output so you will likely want another attacker on your team.
Goodra - Level 100
- Nature – Modest
- Ability – Gooey
- Item – Shell Bell
- Tera type – Dark
- Potential moveset – Tera Blast, Rain Dance, Chilling Water, Acid Spray
Ursaring
While Ursaring cannot evolve in SV, it still has an evolution meaning it can boost its defences with Eviolite.
Belly Drum is one of the games’ most powerful moves maximising attack, while the slow Ursaring deals double damage with Pay Back.
The ability Guts furthers attack by doubling Ursaring’s damage if you use another 'mon to burn it.
Ursaring - Level 100
- Nature – Careful
- Ability – Guts
- Item – Eviolite
- Tera type – Dark
- Potential moveset – Belly Drum, Pay Back, Rain Dance, Charm
Pelipper
Pelipper’s Drizzle will negate Sunny Day, and power down Typhlosion’s Fire-type moves.
It can support others with Helping Hand, and stay healthy with Stockpile.
Pelipper doesn’t have strong moves against Typhlosion but would make a strong supportive set.
Here’s what we recommend:
Pelipper - Level 100
- Nature – Calm
- Ability – Drizzle
- Item – Damp Rock
- Tera type – Dark
- Potential moveset – Tera Blast, Stockpile, Helping Hand, Hurricane
