ACTIVISTS have turned on an eco zealot boss and slammed her for "towering hypocrisy".
The Sun exclusively revealed yesterday that Gail Bradbrook drives a diesel car and buys imported food wrapped in non-recyclable packaging.
It came after a shopper snapped the leader of climate protestors Extinction Rebellion stocking up on Waitrose goods that had travelled thousands of air miles.
The 50-year-old then packed the plastic-wrapped fruit and produce flown 17,400 miles across the globe into her diesel car and drove home.
Today ordinary consumers who shop locally, shun plastic packaging and choose environmentally friendly cars blasted the zealot whose protest army mobbed parliament today.

The preachy protest mastermind went on the offensive today with a foam-flecked blast accusing the media of committing “crimes against humanity”.
But Bradbrook was rocked by replies from Twitter users genuinely upset by her “towering hypocrisy”.
One said: “Have you ever tried shopping in your local farm shop with local produce, or try being vegan or even tried purchasing an electric car or travelling by public transport?
“People don’t listen to hypocrites you see!”
Another added: “It is disappointing that you have made those choices.
“I don’t have a car and I would never buy pre-packaged fruit for environmental reasons. The air miles for some of those products is wincingly bad.”
Another raged: “What you really meant: I can’t be bothered to go out of my way a little to use independent shops that don’t use plastic packaging, I don’t care enough about the environment to eat seasonally, but I’m going to disrupt your lives and demand you do because I’m a hypocrite.”
And the wounded eco-warrior - whose long-distance shop included citrus fruit from Spain - topped off her tirade with the meme of a smiley dancing lemon.
Bradbrook was exposed yesterday after her eco-flouting trip to Waitrose in Stroud, Gloucs.
