LYDIA Bright came under fire after sharing a video of her daughter Loretta running all over some sofas at an event.

The former Towie star, 32, hit back at trolls and insisted she wasn’t going to discipline her child ‘for being her’.

Lydia originally shared the clip as they attended a Marks and Spencer event and wrote:  “Yes my kid is always that kid, but instead of trying to tame her wonderful, wild ways, I let her be her and happy.”

She later revealed some comments from her unhappy followers, with one person writing: “I wouldn’t let her run up and down the seat, she has no discipline.”

A second added:  “You mean unruly.”

Responding to the criticism, Lydia explained: “Loretta is an extrovert, she is confident, energetic and headstrong. I chose not to supress all these wonderful parts of her character.

“I do discipline Loretta if she is rude or unkind but I don’t discipline her for being her. My motto is worry less about people think and more about what makes you and your child happy.”

Loretta is Lydia’s only child with her ex Lee Cronin.

The former Towie star recently spoke about being a single mum, admitting it can at times be ‘overwhelming’.

Speaking to Kate Ferdinand on her Blended podcast, she said:  “Sometimes I find things overwhelming. I don't feel like I'm a single mum, they say it takes a village and my family are incredible. We live so close to each other and they are very hands on as well.

“I sent Loretta to nursery and I felt so guilty. At times you do have to rely on friends, family and childcare. You can't achieve everything by yourself but you get mum guilt and put enormous pressure on yourself as a parent when your working and busy.”
