The stunning Omaze Cotswold home, advertised on TV, can be won with a £10 ticket and boasts four bedrooms, a gym and a heated swimming pool.

But snazzy pictures of the rural home on Omaze’s website omit to show the home borders a paving stone firm set in a 10-acre, 200-year-old disused quarry.

Aerial snaps show the close proximity of the properties in the Gloucestershire countryside - two miles from the chocolate box village of Chipping Campden.

The next nearest neighbours are Lapstone Barn wedding venue - which hosts up to seven marriages-a-week - and an upmarket hairdressers.

A woman in her 60s who was getting her hair dyed at the nearby salon, told The Sun: “I think it’s quite a nice looking, stylish house but you’re getting a quarry next door.

“People should be aware of what they’re getting before they buy into it.

“Someone buying a ticket from the north east isn’t going to come down and have a look at it first.

“It’s quite smart but it’s also quite isolated. Some people like that.

“You’ve got no neighbours except the quarry and a wedding venue.

“But I don’t think anyone will complain if they win a house just because there is an old quarry next door. You’re still getting a £3.5m house.”

Yesterday, a large flatbed HGV was being unloaded in the yard at the quarry which is run by Pavestone UK Ltd.

Pavestone did not want to officially comment but a source at the firm said: “We don’t quarry here anymore, we used to years ago. Now we’re just like an open warehouse.

"We import stone from around the world and then sell it onto builders’ merchants.

“We don’t dig out the stone or explode anything.

"The most noise you will hear is from the beeping of reversing fork lift trucks.

“But I don’t think someone sitting by their pool next door would even hear that because of the trees in the way.”

The home was previously a £600,000 two-bedroom cottage which was knocked down and rebuilt in its current state in 2018 by the owner, a local builder.

He told The Sun: “We never had any issues relating to the proximity of Pavestone, they were fantastic neighbours.

“It's such a peaceful spot, surrounded by beautiful countryside, you feel like you’ve escaped to another world when you’re there.

“Whoever is lucky enough to win this house is going to absolutely love it.”

Omaze does not mention the quarry on its website but says it answers questions from the public about the property and its location.

The company, which raises money for charity through its prize draws, said: “The property does neighbour a small, decommissioned quarry that dates back to the 1800s.

“We understand that it was decommissioned around 30 years ago. Omaze was fully aware of this prior to purchase.

“The site is now occupied by Pavestone UK Ltd, no production takes place on site, it is simply a storage space for paving slabs.

"There are strict noise level and working hour restrictions put in place by Gloucestershire County Council.

“As with all its properties, Omaze and its team of professional advisors conducted a thorough diligence exercise prior to purchase including all appropriate checks, surveys, inspections and reports to ensure that the neighbouring site would in no way impact the eventual winner’s enjoyment and experience of the property.

"As with all its prize draws, when Omaze has received any enquiries from its community regarding this house or the surrounding area, it has provided further details.”
