"I really, really, really hate that the default for Facebook is automatically playing sound on video clips in the feed," one user wrote on Twitter.

Another said: "I hate how Facebook plays sound from videos as you scroll down the feed.

"It's obnoxious and should wait until I click a video."

If you share this feeling, you might be pleased to learn there's a way to stop videos on Facebook from making such a racket.

How do I turn off the sound on Facebook videos?

Whether you're using iPhone or Android, there are a couple of quick changes that can spare you from annoying videos.

The first stops videos starting with sound.

And another stops videos from autoplaying altogether, so you can scroll without videos going off on their own.

Start by tapping the Menu button in the bottom right.

Next, hit the cog icon in the top right.

Scroll down until you find Media.

From here, tap Never autoplay videos.

Then switch off Videos start with sound.

You can also switch off Stories start with sound too if you're finding that a problem as well.
