SKY has warned customers that you're not allowed to share your account - and could be blocked if caught.

With TV available via the internet these days it could be tempting to try and share the cost with friends or family, as has been done for years on Netflix.

But even Netflix is cracking down on that.

Sky launched Sky Stream last year, a dinky telly box that relies on Wi-Fi instead of the traditional satellite dish.

You can pay a little more for extra boxes around your house, which some might consider lending to others.

But Sky has warned it has special tech to detect this.

And sharing your account breaches the terms and conditions you agree to when signing up.

If caught, your TV access could be blocked - and you may even be hit with unwanted extra fees.

The firm says it uses "data received from compatible devices and network connections you use to access your TV Services" to check all Sky products are used in the address signed up to it.

"If you or any other person uses any of the TV services or your account anywhere other than your address, you will be in breach of this contract," Sky states.

"As such, we may either suspend your TV services or charge you an Additional Location Charge for use at that other address based on the price of your subscription at your address.

"We will notify you before taking any action or applying that additional charge to your account."

The same rules actually apply to Sky Glass, the company's other dish-less service - though this is a lot harder to share around on the cheap.

So if you enjoy your Sky TV services and have thought about it, best not.
