A LUCKY woman has won a £58,823 lottery jackpot - and her plans for the money expose a serious rivalry with her husband.

Ruth Worthington, 51, from Greater Manchester, was one of 15 neighbours who won the People's Postcode Lottery.

The lucky winners split the £1 million prize when their postcode came up in the draw.

She has now revealed how she plans to spend the money - and it's not how you'd think.

Ruth, a Liverpool fan, has promised her husband tickets to the Champions League final if Manchester City go through.

Putting her rivalry aside, she's vowed to treat her husband Andy, 46, and their two kids to a trip to the final in Istanbul's Ataturk Olympic Stadium next month.

She said: “Being a Liverpool fan and having experienced that so many times before, I would like to see a poor Man City fan experience it, too."

Ruth was gutted when Liverpool was knocked out of the tournament - but said she will treat her husband if his team go through.

IT consultant Andy said: "Let’s get this week out of the way first. But I was going to the final anyway, regardless of how it turned out. But I think they can still do it.”

The couple also want to help their two kids get onto the property ladder and treat their miniature poodle Jack.

Ruth said: "I’m really humbled to have won this kind of money. I’m gobsmacked.

“We’ll help the kids out a bit with some money to put to a house sometime in the future…so they can move out sooner rather than later."

Other winners along the same street were a family of four - who each had individual tickets and bagged a whopping £58,823 each.

People's Postcode Lottery costs £12 a month and people play with their chosen postcode.
