A SOCIAL media star has shared her hack for keeping ants out of her home without using any chemicals.

It never seems to matter whether it is an apartment or a cabin, in the city or suburbs – ants always seem to be able to find their way in.

But there is a simple, natural solution to ridding your home of ants that you can start using today: cinnamon sticks.

The easy home hack was posted in a video on TikTok by influencer Shannon Doherty of Mom Hacks (@athomewithshannon).

"Why am I putting cinnamon all over my kitchen?," she asked at the start of the clip.

"Well, it's a mom hack."

Doherty has amassed over two million followers on TikTok alone thanks to her helpful tips for moms.

"My grandma taught me this simple hack: Put cinnamon around the openings in your walls and the ants stay away," she said.

How can you use cinnamon to eliminate ants in your house?

In the ten-second video, Doherty places sticks of cinnamon in strategic positions around her home.

It's that simple.

Cinnamon sticks can be bought for $1.33 at Walmart – much less than the cost of most insect sprays.

Many of her fans shared their comments on her "mom hack."

"Mind blown!!!!!!," one fan replied.

Almost 10,000 people liked the video.

"Best Hack for ANTS! Share with everyone!!," she captioned the video.
