Madonna isn't one to shy away from a huge style transformation and her latest look has the songstress sporting a dramatic new hairstyle.
The Vogue singer, 64, took to social media to stun her followers with her new look as she took a step away from her usual style of locks.
The drastic change saw her chop off her waist-length her and opt for a trendy shag haircut. Debuting her new look on her Instagram Stories, the pop icon gave a glare down the lens of the camera to show off the mullet-type style with a red tint.
She wrote on the image: "When you know your only day off isn't really a day off."
It's far from the first shocking revelation Madge has showed off in recent years. In September last year she surprised her followers on TikTok when she first showcased her red hair as she stepped away fro the blonde shade her fans had become used to.
Madonna wears head-to-toe Gucci on family holiday to Malawi for New Year'sAnd she took time out to hit back at criticism of her new appearance following this year's Grammy Awards in February.
At the time she wrote on Instagram: "Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam [Smith] and Kim [Petras], many people chose to only talk about Close-up photos of me Taken with a long lens camera By a press photographer that Would distort anyone's face!!"
She noted in her statement, she will always be unapologetically herself despite what what might others think.
And the criticism came once again earlier this month when she and Sam Smith dropped the news they were to release a song together this month.
The track is called Vulgar and was released on June 9, with both artists initially teasing it to their millions of followers on Instagram.
Sharing a snap of the pair wearing corsets with the letters ‘S&M’ over the top, Madonna wrote: “VULGAR.......... new song out Friday June 9th @samsmith.”
Over on their own Instagram, Sam simply shared a video with the words ‘VULGAR’ in pink followed by the date of the song’s release.
The announcement divided fans with some branding Sam’s outfits and religious connotations in their performances ‘vulgar’, but it seems they are reclaiming the word for the new track with Madonna.
