US GOLFER Scott Stallings thought he had been snubbed for the Masters after Augusta chiefs sent his invite to the wrong Scott Stallings.

And in a mind-blowing twist, the recipient’s wife was also called Jennifer.

Three-time PGA Tour winner Stallings, 37, resorted to checking his mailbox “five times-a-day” during his anxious wait for the precious package.

But he was put out his misery when he received a social media message from his namesake including pictures of his invite to April’s Georgia Major.

It read: “I’m 100 per cent sure this is NOT for me. I play but wow, nowhere near your level.

“It’s a very nice package complete with everything you need to attend. I think we have some confusion because of our wives’ names and geographical location.”

The 'other' Stallings also sent over two photos of the invitation as proof that he was not messing around, adding: "I'm really not kidding I promise."

Fans were almost as shocked as Stallings and called on the golfer to invite the amateur to The Masters, which takes place in April.

One wrote: "Ya have to get the guy tickets don’t ya. Maybe have him caddie Wednesday?"

Another added: "You gotta invite THE Scott Stallings to the event man. ????"
