IT'S that time once again when a new line-up of star-studded celebrities strap up their skates and take to the ice.

The competition, dubbed the "greatest show on ice" will return in 2023 for series 15 - and here's when.

When does Dancing On Ice start?

Dancing On Ice will return to screens once more on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

The official launch episode will see presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby return alongside judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Alongside meeting the star-studded expert panel, six of the 11 hopeful celebrity contestants will take to the ice to perform their first routines.

Who is taking part in Dancing On Ice 2023?

From Love Island stars to award winning actors - this year's Dancing On Ice line-up has it all.

Here's a look at the 11 celebrities hoping to skate their way to the winning spot, with the help of some of the world's leading skating professionals.

The Vivienne

Glamourous drag queen and RuPaul's Drag Race UK season one winner The Vivienne is the first drag artist to compete on the show.

Ahead of Dancing On Ice, The Vivienne said: "This is honestly a dream come true and I can't wait to start training on the ice."

Michelle Heaton

Former Liberty X pop star Michelle Heaton will be hoping to skate her way to victory alongside partner Lukasz Rozycki.

Michelle, who has been incredibly open about her struggle with addiction, said: “It’s been a long journey to get here and now I’m stronger than ever and I just want to do everybody proud.”

John Fashanu

Former professional footballer John Fashanu will be taking to the Ice this series alongside professional skating partner Alex Schauman.

Speaking ahead of the launch show, the sporting legend said: “Out of all the sports that I have done, this is the hardest ever.”

Ekin-Su Culculoglu

TV star Ekin-Su rose to fame after winning the 2022 series of ITV's fan-favourite dating show Love Island, alongside partner Davide Sanclimenti.

Now the Love Island beauty is hoping bag another TV show win.

Discussing her Dancing On Ice casting, Ekin-Su had one thing on her mind.

She said: "I’m nervous about falling on my bum.''

Carley Stenson

Former Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson is returning to our screens once again.

This time alongside professional partner Mark Hanretty.

The actress, who played Steph Cunningham on the soap for 11 years, is mum to a one-year-old daughter called Skye Bella who she shares with husband Danny Mac.

Danny played Dodger in Hollyoaks and was a finalist on Strictly.

A source told The Sun: "He's sure to be sharing some valuable advice for her as she prepares to take to the rink.

"But after carving out her own career as a performer on TV and later in the West End she already knows a thing or two about dazzling audiences."

Siva Kaneswaran

Swapping the stage for skates this year is The Wanted star Siva Kaneswaran.

The singer has previously said he was inspired to appear on the show by late bandmate Tom Parker, who sadly died last year after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

Darren Harriott

Hoping to bring his charismatic charm to the ice is comedian Darren Harriott.

In the trailer for the show, Darren can be heard saying: '' If I have a bad gig, I can just blame the audience.

“Whereas if I wipe out on the ice, I can’t really blame the ice!”

Patsy Palmer

Actress and DJ Patsy Palmer is one of 11 contestants hoping to skate their way through the competition

Former EastEnders star and DJ Patsy Palmer is also taking to the ice - both in the UK and US.

She will be showing off her skating skills alongside partner Matt Evers.

Because the actress lives in Malibu these days, producers aren't going to force her to jet over to a rink in Milton Keynes or similar.

The mum - who wants to stay close to kids Charley, Fenton and Emilia - said: "I'll be travelling back, but training in Los Angeles which I feel blessed about."

Nile Wilson

Olympic bronze medal-winning gymnast Nile Wilson is used to competing - but has he got what it takes to win Dancing On Ice 2023?

During the shows trailer, Nile can be heard saying: “It’s right up my street, learning a new skill and being competitive again.

“I’m just going to give it my absolute everything and see how far we can go.”

Joey Essex

Reality star and former The Only Way is Essex cast member Joey Essex will take to the ice alongside professional skating partner Vanessa Bauer.

Speaking on This Morning Joey said: "I've done all the dating shows. I like doing serious stuff, but this is a competition.

"I would love to win."

Mollie Gallagher

Swapping the comfort of the cobbles for the ice is Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher.

Despite being used to the spotlight, Mollie said Dancing on Ice is the "scariest thing she's ever done".

How can I watch Dancing On Ice 2023?

Viewers can tune into Dancing On Ice 2023 on ITV1 at 6.30pm - with new episodes airing every Sunday.

The launch episode will provide viewers with 1 hour and 30 minutes worth of Dancing On Ice joy.

The first episode is expected to see half the skaters take to the ice, with the remaining half skating the following week. 

Previous seasons of the show ran for 10 weeks with a celebrity being voted out each week by the public.

Episodes will also be available to stream on ITVX.
