UNIVERSITY Challenge viewers were left fuming as they struggle to ignore a contestant's VERY annoying habit.

In the second of the series semi-finals, two more teams of students face off for a place in the grand final.

The BBC Two quiz show is hosted by Jeremy Paxman who asks the questions.

But Lyon kept curling his hair while he was thinking about the answers.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their frustration over the youngster's annoying habit.

One said: "I literally can't watch Lyon."

Another wrote: "For the love of God, stop fiddling with your hair Lyon!

A third penned: "Some people don't like Lyon. Some don't like McLaughlin. For me, the deciding factor is that McLaughlin leaves his f****** hair alone."

A fourth added: "#UniversityChallenge - Southampton’s fiddlers - hair (Lyon) and beard (belcher) are back."

This comes after University Challenge released a first look of Jeremy Paxman's replacement Amol Rajan on the new set of the show.

Jeremy confirmed he would be leaving the BBC Two programme  after 28 years.

Amol Rajan, who has called the show his "favourite programme," will host the revised version, which will air this summer.

Speaking about his involvement in the show, Amol said: “I have spent years re-arranging Monday nights around the need to be in front of my television at 20.30.

"University Challenge really is my favourite programme. And from their feedback and sheer numbers, our treasured audience has made very clear I am far from alone."

BBC Commissioning Editor for Entertainment and Comedy, Pinki Chambers said: “The competition is fierce, the questions are harder and Amol has taken to the programme in an instant. This is going to be one of our best series yet.”
