Love may be lost for Killing Eve star Jodie Comer and her lacrosse player boyfriend James Burke as rumours abound that they have split up.
The 30-year-old actress was first linked to 29-year-old James back in 2019 while filming the action flick Free Guy and they embarked on a romance.
The pair navigated choppy waters when James’s political beliefs drew attention with some of Jodie’s fans taking issue in 2020 with his Republican leanings.
But now it seems the relationship may well be over as the pair have not been seen together and Jodie also failed to mention James at a recent awards show when she collected a gong.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Jodie and James were really loved up for a while, but they’re in different parts of the world.
New Year resolutions you should make for 2023 based on your star sign"She is at a really exciting time in her career and putting all the opportunities coming her way first.
“All of her hard work over the years is paying off and she is looking forward to her future.”
The Mirror has contacted Jodie’s spokesperson for comment.
Earlier this month, Jodie was crowned Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play at the 76th Tony Awards for her part in one woman play Prima Facie - which has won success on Broadway.
During her acceptance speech, Jodie thanked “family and friends”, but made no mention of James - who was also noticeably absent from the ceremony.
While back in April, James was again nowhere to be seen when Jodie won the Best Actress Olivier award for her Prima Facie role.
The couple had seemed to be rock solid, navigating a social media baptism of fire when fans of the Killing Eve star were whipped into a frenzy when James’s political beliefs were uncovered.
Jodie addressed the backlash during an interview with The Times in 2020 while explaining how she and James made their romance work when they spent their time on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
She said at the time: “So it has been tricky. So there’s a lot of face timing. But it’s working! It’s good. It’s really good. It’s like with anything in life, if you want it enough you make it work.
“You know, I would never want to speak badly about people in my past, but yeah, this relationship feels very different. This feels like nothing else.
'My wife said she'd stop seeing fella at work but I keep catching them at it'“ When you actually feel it, you’re like, ‘Ahhh, so this is what it feels like!’ And it was special.
"I was away, it was the height of summer, I was doing this incredible job that was so much fun, it was my first time working in the States. So it was a lot of firsts.”
Back in April, fans of Jodie and fellow actor Paul Mescal urged the pair to get together when they posed in the winners room of the Olivier awards after they both scooped top prizes.
Reacting to images online, one fan wrote: "I'm sorry but are Paul Mescal and Jodie Comer not the most PERFECT COUPLE! Insanely talented, distractingly beautiful, adorable and so humble. Someone set this up."
