Malta vs England betting tips
Club football is done and dusted for 2022-23 but the football continues with England looking to secure safe passage to the 2024 European Championships in Germany.
Things are looking extremely good for the Three Lions after beating Italy away in Group C's toughest fixture before beating Ukraine 2-0 at Wembley.
That gives England maximum points from their opening two fixtures, and they should negotiate six more in their upcoming clashes with Malta and North Macedonia.
Gareth Southgate's side are odds-on 1/22 to beat Malta, who sit 172nd in FIFA's rankings -- below Guyana, St Lucia and Botswana.
The pair last met during World Cup qualification in 2017 with England winning 2-0 and 4-0 with Phil Jones and Jake Livermore featuring in the second fixture.
England are now a different beast but Southgate is expected to give the likes of Eberechi Eze, Callum Wilson and Marc Guehi a chance to impress in a much-changed starting XI.
Flyer...
England shouldn't have any trouble in brushing aside their opponents, and will likely blow them away from the very first whistle.
The Three Lions are a well-oiled machine and really haven't struggled for goals of late having netted 20 in their last eight clashes, including a 6-0 thumping of Iran at the World Cup.
It's possible that Southgate will field a very strong side including Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford before making several changes in the latter stages.
Guardiola picks side on BODY LANGUAGE as he tells Foden why he’s been on benchWe think England will get off to a flyer and should grab at least one goal in the opening 15 minutes against a side who've lost three of their last four.

It would be a massive shock if Harry Kane featured and didn't get on the scoresheet on Wednesday.
The captain and country’s record goalscorer has scored in each of his past four internationals. He's also netted in all but one of his last 20 qualifying appearances.
The 29-year-old has also racked up his fair share of assists this season having provided five for Spurs, and a further 17 in 82 appearances for the Three Lions.
On target…
Bukayo Saka is priced at 5/4 to score anytime against Malta, and that looks a good price given his exploits for England.
The Arsenal superstar has scored eight goals for England in 26 appearances, with all eight arriving when he's started the match including his last outing against Ukraine in March.
He also scored in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season.
