VODAFONE has launched an accessory for anyone going to Glastonbury this year who's worried about running out of battery.

Festival-goers can get hold of fully charged mobile battery packs before and during the massive event.

You can exchange the packs for a fully charged one throughout Glastonbury.

The kit costs £20 plus a £5 deposit - you can get the deposit back if you return the device after the festival has ended.

Vodafone says the packs are compatible with almost all mobile and personal tech devices and will take most back to full charge on Android or iPhone.

But users are advised to bring their own charging cables to connect via USB or USB-C ports.

The firm will donate a pre-loaded SIM card to a local charity in Somerset for every pack purchased.

Festival-goers can also visit the Vodafone zone located near The Pyramid Stage for a free charge up throughout the event.

You can get a free battery boost whether you're a Vodafone customer or not.

It comes as Vodafone takes over from EE as Glastonbury's connectivity sponsor.

The network will launch a brand new Official Glastonbury Festival app as part of the deal.

This year's Glastonbury Festival line-up includes Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses, Elton John and Lizzo.

Nicki Lyons, Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer at Vodafone UK, said: "At Vodafone we have put tackling the digital divide at the very heart of our business and we know the vital role that connectivity plays in people’s lives.

"We’re delighted to launch our new initiative at Glastonbury and help drive real impact in the local area for both individuals and businesses."

People can reserve their pack in advance from Vodafone or purchase them onsite.
