It was said that the man had urinated and defecated Pierce's neighbours back garden.
After using the garden as his own personal toilet, the suspect made his way to Pierce's house.
R&B star Anita Pointer of The Pointer Sisters dies aged 74The police have said the man walked around Pierce's back garden to the front and broke into the inside laundry room to clean himself off.
Apparently the accused took off and headed to the beach nearby when the police showed up.
However, a Sheriff's helicopter found him hiding in the rocks along the shore.
The man was then taken into custody and booked for burglary for stealing Pierce's water.
The cops have said that the Mamma Mia star's wife Keely Shaye Smith was at home during the incident.
However, it is still unclear whether or not Pierce was there too.
A spokeswoman for Malibu County Sherriff has confirmed that the incident happened on Monday in the Broad Beach area.
Pierce had previously listed his Malbu mansion for sale back in September 2020 before withdrawing it from the market a few months later.
If sold for its $100 million asking price it would have been one of the more expensive properties in the upscale area, which is home to the likes of fellow Hollywood legends Danny DeVito and Dustin Hoffman.
The impressive abode was the built by Pierce and Keely after they bought two beachside properties in the area for $7.35 million in 2000.

PIERCE'S PALACE
The main property, which took over a decade to craft, is called the Orchid House and covers nearly 12,500 square feet.
The property’s decor is a nod to Thailand, where Pierce filmed the 1997 Bond flick Tomorrow Never Dies.
It boasts 117 feet of oceanfront, with a salt water pool in front of the guest house.
The compound also has a home cinema with a bar and tiered seating. Another wing of the home contains a large, mirrored gym, sauna, steam room, Japanese soaking tub, and cold plunge.
Brosnan and his family currently live in Hawaii on the island of Kauai.
Brosnan previously told the Wall Street Journal: “I love Malibu. It has my heart.” But these days, “home is very much here in the islands.”
This comes after Pierce looked happier than ever in a recent holiday snap he shared.
MAMMA MIA!
The James Bond actor and his wife Keely have been married since 2001 and they share two kids together - Paris and Dylan.
Pierce took to Instagram earlier this month to post a heart-melting snap of himself and Paris in Florence, Italy together.
The pair posed outside with the view of the famous medieval bridge, Ponte Vecchio, behind them.
The actor smiled from ear-to-ear while Paris looked away into the distance.
They took another stunning photo of them looking at each other while Pierce had his arm around his son.
The Mamma Mia star captioned it: "Papa and Paris, Florence, Ponte Vecchio."
Pierce's friends and fans all flocked to the post to compliment the pair.
One follower wrote: "They look very much alike! May the days be beautiful for you in Italy!"
