MACI Bookout rose to fame through the Teen Mom franchise after giving birth to her first child and has since expanded her family.

Teen Mom fans first met Maci Bookout on MTV's 16 and Pregnant in 2009.
At the time, she was welcoming her son Bentley with her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Edwards.
The pair had a "toxic" relationship which is why they eventually split.

“My most painful breakup was one where, because I had so much invested in the relationship, I convinced myself that I needed to make it work and ignored a lot of red flags,” Bookout wrote in her book, I Wasn’t Born Bulletproof, via Us Weekly.
“It was my second love, and my most toxic relationship. When it finally ended it was painful, but I also felt a sense of relief that the relationship was over.
“With Ryan, it took a year of being disconnected, fighting and living parallel lives before we finally split up,” she continued.
“We tried for a little while because we thought staying together was the right thing for Bentley (after all my parents have stayed together through all kinds of ups and downs since they were teenagers), but ultimately we realized that being happy and apart was far healthier for our son than being miserable and together.”
Bookout went on to marry Taylor McKinney and welcome two more kids, Jayde and Maverick, making her a mom of three.
Was Ryan Edwards fired from Teen Mom?
Since debuting on the show, Edwards has led a controversial life that has included struggles with substance abuse, multiple run-ins with the law, and a nearly one-year prison sentence.
Several of these situations came about after he and his family were fired from the Teen Mom franchise in March 2021.
At the time, Edwards exclusively told The U.S. Sun: “Maci is in fear that my mom and dad will start telling the truth. She will always fight to have us off the show.
“MTV does not really stand for anything we believe in or support," he continued.
During an interview on the YouTube channel Without a Crytal Ball, his estranged wife, Mackenzie Edwards, then claimed that they were fired because Bookout's agent wanted the show to focus more on her life instead.

“We just got a call yesterday from Morgan [J. Freeman] and Larry [Musnik] at MTV and Maci's agent went above their heads and went to Viacom," she explained.
"They wanted to focus on all of Maci's abilities and her … whatever she does, and that we took up the time on the show that she could be using to show all that."
While they might've been against the decision, Bookout has since said that them being off the show is a "huge relief."
“I think being on TV and doing this show was not the main portion of why our relationship was always so toxic,” Bookout told PageSix.
“But … there was no way to create room or space for us to heal or move on or get over some things because we’re constantly having to talk about each other when we don’t even talk to each other.
“What’s the point in that? So yeah, safe to say it’s a huge relief [that he’s not on the show]," Bookout added.
