James continued: "All the family came to say their goodbyes. I can’t speak for them but I believe she influenced their lives too. Lupo, Catherine and William’s dog, was one of Ella’s puppies. My sister Pippa and her husband have a pup from Ella, as do other family members.
"My sisters came to some of my therapy sessions. They’ve always been there during difficult times and they were at my side during the hardest of times as well. For that, I am forever grateful."
James and Alizée married in September 2021 after Covid forced them to cancel twice.
The couple had a "beautiful" ceremony on Saturday surrounded by friends and relatives in Bormes-les-Mimosas, a village in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, southeast France.
It is believed that Kate, Prince William and their children Prince George, then eight, Princess Charlotte, then six and the then three-year-old Prince Louis were at the wedding.
But it was a rather small affair, with largely only family present.
