SENATOR Josh Hawley is speaking out following a slew of allegations that the government is funding a top-secret unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) program.
While Senator Hawley has not been able to verify when the special UAP program exists, he has suggested that some of the claims made by Air Force Veteran David Grusch could be true.
Grusch has alleged that the government maintains a secret UFO retrieval program and has close to a dozen aircraft in its possession that are not believed to be made by human hands.
The veteran says that he has been approached by multiple former and current intelligence officers who have claimed to be part of this secret UAP program.
"They provided me documents and other proof that there in fact was a program that the UAP task force was not read into," Grusch said in an interview.

Sen. Hawley has offered some remarks in response to the whistleblower's shocking declarations.
"I was surprised when I learned that there was many, many, many of these unidentified and unaccounted aerial platforms out there," Senator Hawley noted.
"The number of these is apparently huge, huge and that is something that the government has downplayed if not kept from the public for a very long time."
While the politician could not provide any evidence to verify Grusch's claims, he did suggest they were plausible.
"He is saying that the government knows more about this than they have previously lead on. That doesn't really surprise me because it looks like the government has been tracking these UAPs for a very long time now," explained Senator Hawley.
Some public officials are more skeptical surrounding the topic of hidden alien technology.
South Carolina Sen. Lindsay Graham is among those who have questioned Grusch's allegations.
"If we really found this stuff there is no way we could keep it from coming out..." Graham noted.
"My gut belief is that if there is a physical piece of a spacecraft or an in-tact spaceship, we would've known about it by now," the Senator continued.
A house field hearing on UAPs is planned for late July and will take place in Florida.
