FORMER EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt has hit out after his image was used to promote a dangerous diet product.

The actor, 54, slammed the "scam" after learning pictures of him slimmed-down frame were being used without his permission on social media to tout a weight-loss brand.

The BBC soap star shared a snap of the ad on his instagram and revealed his anger over the fraudulent promotion.

He fumed: "A friend saw this advert on Facebook or whatever it is called this year and sent it to me. It is 100% NOTHING to do with me.

"I’m also aware of several accounts pretending to be a personal or private account for me on Instagram, it doesn’t matter how many times we report or block them, another one pops up.

Adam continued: "I’m on Twitter and Facebook but rarely use them, this is the account that I use regularly although I don’t reply often to comments (I probably should interact a bit more than I do) and I never check messages."

He finished with a simple warning: "Please be careful on Social Media."

Adam is not the only star to hit out at such scams as Lorraine Kelly recently voiced her disgust at a similar ad.

The TV favourite, who showed off her incredible one and a half stone weight loss last year, was horrified when she spotted a diet brand using her name and face to promote their products.

Lorraine, 63, was quick to call out the internet scam after it made shocking claims about her weight loss.

Fake brand FIGUR suggested that Lorraine achieved her weight loss through "fat burning pills" and had given "samples" to a host of her famous pals - including Emma Willis and Carol Voderman.

Furious by the dangerous comments, Lorraine said she would be seeking legal advice on the matter and urged her followers to not believe these fake claims.

She hit back and slammed the claims, writing: "This is utter crap and I have reported - please do not believe this utter utter b*****.

"I’m furious and will be taking legal advice.
