Is BBC weather broken? Brits report bizarre forecasts after 'glitch'

BRITS have reported a "glitch" with the BBC weather forecast after a string of bizarre predictions.

People took to social media to question the unusual outlook, which would have seen a radical change in conditions in the coming days.

Screenshots showed that the Beeb was predicting a temperature of between 6C and 8C throughout the UK for every day between this evening and Thursday.

In fact, the hourly breakdown suggested that the mercury would hold at exactly 7C for almost the entire week, regardless of the time of day or location.

Users shared their confusion at the images, with many assuming it was a mistake.

One wrote: "Anybody getting unbelievably low temperatures BBC Weather?

"No way is this right."

Another added: "Please tell me the BBC Weather app is broken because this seems unusually pessimistic for June/July."

Meanwhile a third said: "I mean I know it's the UK and the weather is, well, British, but I'm pretty sure BBC Weather is a bit broken."

The corporation confirmed that a data error was the cause of the out-of-place predictions.

A spokesperson said: "Our apologies for the incorrect temperatures appearing on the website and app.

"We are working with our data suppliers to fix this fault."

In reality, the Met Office forecast from yesterday suggested that Brits may want to get their brollies out with a band of rain set to sweep the nation

Temperatures are predicted to be around normal for this time of year.
