A mum has been left scratching her head over her five-year-old daughter's homework that makes "literally no sense". The woman has taken to social media to seek answers after spending a good while trying to figure it out for herself.

Sharing a picture of her daughter's homework on Reddit, she wrote: "The homework assignment my five-year-old daughter was given - I am so confused." The homework sheet is centred around the letter O and asks pupils to "circle the pictures that begin with O". But the problem is, there doesn't seem to be any pictures starting with the letter O, with it showing a vet, a rope, a jar of jam, a bone and toes.

It prompted users to question whether the vet is actually an "otorhinolaryngologist for animals", or if the jar is in fact an "openless jar of jam".

One user said: "The second one is obviously Obi-Wan's robe."

Another user joked: "Pretty sure that's Olallieberry jam."

Actually trying to solve the homework, a third user said: "My best guess is the question should have been 'Circle the picture with the O sound'.

"This would have been toe, robe and bone. But it's a poorly created worksheet."

It comes after a seven-year-old's rather unfortunate drawing of a person washing their hands at a sink left people in stitches.

The drawing, which has been shared on Reddit by user wowprettyneat, has been upvoted more than 7,200 times - with many commenting on the inappropriate artwork.

When viewed upside down, the drawing shows a pair of hands reaching out toward a tap.

However, many Reddit users believe the cylinder-shaped tap looks more like a male's private parts than something you'd find at the kitchen sink.

The parent said: "This is upside down and it's actually how I first saw it. It's meant to be a drawing of washing hands. My seven-year-old drew it last year at school".

While most users couldn't help but laugh at the unfortunate drawing, others blamed it on the angle the child used.

One user said: "It's not a bad drawing but perspective really is everything."

Another user added: "If I was the parent, I would frame it and bring it up every time my child invited his significant other over."

A third user joked: "When it comes time for the sex talk, just pull this picture back out and explain."
