Linda Nolan recalled the moment her sister Coleen told the family about her cancer diagnosis over a 'classy' lunch.
Loose Women presenter Coleen, 58, revealed that she was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on her shoulder and melanoma on her face during a segment on the show.
Earlier this week, Coleen explained how she had found this "tiny" bit of skin on her shoulder that was quite red and wouldn't go, which she thought was eczema.
Her sisters Linda, Anne, and her late sister Bernie all battled cancer.
Speaking about Coleen's diagnosis, Linda opened up about the moment the entire family found out.
'My wife said she'd stop seeing fella at work but I keep catching them at it'"Well, I have to admit I don’t watch Loose Women (sssh!) but Coleen told us about her diagnosis weeks ago, while we were on a big family weekend away I arranged. (Thanks Col... Parade, rain?)," she said in her column for the Mirror.
"We were sitting down to fish and chips, all 22 of us because that’s the kind of classy family we are - they were actually in boxes, so very classy - and she just came out with it."
She added: "I went, ‘Oh my God, well thanks for letting us know…!’ And she said ‘Well, I didn’t want to phone you[ITALICS] and say ‘I have skin cancer’’, to which I replied: ‘Yes indeed Coleen, this is my baby!’"
Linda added that she was 'so glad' Coleen told them.
"I suspect she felt awkward, and she’s not often openly emotional, but we can support her now, just as the whole family has me," Linda continued.
It was completely by chance that Coleen went to a dermatologist appointment six to seven months ago for a different problem, where she decided to get her shoulder checked out.
The dermatologist then diagnosed her with basal cell carcinoma after taking a look at the red skin on her shoulder.
Coleen said she was told it was "nothing to worry about" as it's typically a cancer that doesn't spread but she underwent treatment with a chemo cream.
After six weeks of treatment, which was successful as it meant the skin didn't need to be cut out, the star decided to get a tiny mark and piece of skin on her nose examined.
She was later diagnosed with melanoma with the doctor telling her: "If you don't treat them, later on in life that will spread and become skin cancer."
'Fiance spent Christmas with his ex-wife and kids again'Coleen said they are going to attempt to use the chemo cream on her face again to treat the melanoma.
