NAPOLI have entered the race to sign Celta Vigo's Gabri Veiga, according to reports.

Chelsea and Manchester United are amongst the clubs to have already shown an interest in the midfielder.

Veiga, who has been dubbed the "mini-Kaka", scored 11 goals and provided four assists in La Liga last season.

His performances for Celta have made him a target for a host of top European clubs.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are the latest side to take an interest in signing the 21-year-old.

The Serie A champions had a £26million bid rejected by Celta on Monday but plan to increase their offer.

Celta are understood to only be willing to sell Veiga if his £34million release clause is activated.

The report adds that Veiga has recently changed his agent and that Napoli's pursuit will not be affected by the imminent signing of Jens Cajuste from Reims.

Several Premier League clubs have been in talks over the potential signing of Veiga this summer.

Chelsea were the first to make their interest in the midfielder known before Liverpool entered talks back in June.

Veiga is understood to still be on Chelsea's list of potential midfield signings, though, as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add to his options.

Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked, with the latter identifying Veiga as a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The Denmark international could leave North London before the window closes amid interest from Atletico Madrid.
