LOVE Island fans were distraught when new host Maya Jama wasn't on tonight's episode.

The star, who was a hit with fans on launch night, was absent from Tuesday night's show.

Love Island fans were fuming they did not get a dose of their favourite Maya tonight.

The star has jetted back to London and will return to South Africa later this week for more filming.

Fans noticed her absence, and flocked to Twitter.

One wept: "Me realising Maya Jama won't be making an appearance this episode."

Another said: "Where was Maya Jama tonight I missed her?"

Tom ended up picking Olivia in a shock twist at the end of the show.

Meanwhile Love Island fans were left gobsmacked this evening as the show ended with the announcement of two new bombshells.

Hunky David Salako and stunning Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown are heading in to stir things up – just a day after the first couples were made.

Those watching at home couldn’t believe more new faces were arriving already after fans of Love Island chose first bombshell Tom Clare to head into the plush pad.

The Sun revealed earlier today that the new duo were arriving.

A source said: “Love Island aren’t messing around this year and two new bombshells are heading into the villa to stir things up.

“It makes the show really exciting to watch and gives those in the villa a chance to stray if they’re not content with the person they’re with."

Five boys and five girls were coupled up in the Love Island launch show, hosted by Maya - which saw Kai Fagan dump Olivia Hawkins after she stole him from Anna-May Robey.

However, despite all of the new glamorous contestants, fans claimed that host Maya Jama should be getting all of the attention.

One fan claimed on Twitter: "Can't lie... Maya Jama just stole the show.."

A second added: "Maya Jama really came on to the show on the first night and stole the entire show."

Though her arrival had been jeopardised by a huge storm, risking her grand entrance.

Yet she issued a stern warning as she stepped foot in the villa - admitting finding a partner is "never that simple."

Maya could have been referencing her rollercoaster relationship with rapper Stormzy, who she recently rekindled her relationship with.

The Sun revealed Maya would replace Laura Whitmore as host last year.

It came after Celebrity Juice team captain Laura, 37, told how she was leaving the high profile presenter role after three series.
