Michael Barrymore has made another attempt at a showbiz comeback after his career took a nosedive following the pool tragedy which took place in his home.

Michael, now 71, was the king of entertainment, pulling in millions with his Saturday night shows. But one fateful night in 2001 saw everything he'd worked for upended in the space of a matter of hours when an after party at his Essex mansion went tragically wrong.

Stuart Lubbock was tragically found dead in the swimming pool of Michael's £2million home in Roydon, Essex.

The fallen TV presenter, 71, has been raking up thousands of views and followers on TikTok, where he recreated viral videos and shares glimpses into his own life – even poking fun at his downfall in the showbiz world.

Alongside his TikTok page, Michael has also been making appearances on stage in his co-directing role in the new production, Laurel & Chaplin, at the Cambridge Theatre in London.

And, all the while, Michael has been filming TikToks where he shares videos in an attempt to make his 1.7 million followers laugh.

Michael's presenting career came to an abrupt end over 20 years ago after Stuart Lubbock, was found dead in the TV star's swimming pool following a house party. After the tragic event, Michael disappeared from the public eye and soon after, he lost his job at ITV.

Three years after his ITV axe, Michael made a return to TV when he appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006, in which he finished in second place.

While Michael's TikTok videos see him recreate viral videos, he also shares glimpses into his everyday life which see him going on walks, sharing life advice, and reacting to trending stories.

In some videos, Michael recaps the day from the point of view of his Jack Russell called Dave.

It seems that Michael hasn't let go of his former career, as he often shares old clips from his television shows Kids Say The Funniest Things and Strike It Rich, which aired on ITV between 1998 and 2000 and from 1996 to 1999 respectively.

In one clip, Michael poked fun at his fall from grace in the showbiz world as he jumped on a viral trend which originated from none other than Peppa Pig.

The viral sound hears the Peppa Pig narrator say: "Ms Rabbit has fainted. Miss Rabbit has fainted again."

TikTok users have been filming themselves fainting, and Michael jumped on the bandwagon as he filmed himself fainting and penned on top of the clip: "When you check your bank balance after being out of work for 20 years."
