EASTENDERS star Jamie Borthwick has treated soap fans to rare scenes of the cast going wild at the National Television Awards.

The BBC soap scooped three gongs in total at the glitzy ceremony this week and the stars couldn't wait to celebrate.

While still in the venue at London's O2 Arena, Jamie - who plays Jay Brown in EastEnders - captured the mood as Sweet Caroline began blaring out.

And the Neil Diamond classic, which has become the good luck song for English football, certainly got them all up and on their feet.

Jamie filmed his co-stars and backstage crew as they sang along to the track and waved their arms in the air.

Danielle Harold, who won the NTA for Best Serial Drama Performance for Lola Pearce's harrowing exit, clutched her award as she jumped up and down.

Tony Clay, who plays Callum "Halfway" Highway, couldn't help but sing along, while even Rudolph Walker - aka Patrick Trueman - got in on the fun.

Jamie has posted his video to Instagram, telling his followers: "Enjoying these moments with my cast mates and Enders team."

Replying, one fan gushed: "OMG please let me come to the Christmas party!"

Another added: "Oh I just bloody love you guys!"

And someone else, who was in the audience at the O2, wrote: "We were there near front, Eastenders were definitely the ones who were loving every minute and down to earth x."

Along with Danielle's win, EastEnders newcomer Bobby Brazier walked away with the Rising Star award.

Bobby, who is the son of Jeff Brazier and the late Jade Goody, scooped the gong for his portrayal of Freddie Slater in the BBC1 soap.

Proud dad Jeff even broke down in tears as he accepted the award due to a touching tribute he made.

"This has very little to do with me and everything to do with my dad," Bobby told the packed venue.

"Over the course of the last 20 years I've heard him say, "Because I can". It was a mantra of his and him just saying that, "Because I can". Because I can, why not?"

The EastEnders cast and crew also won the award for Best Serial Drama.
