IT’S hard to believe, but The Wedding Singer is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month.

Released in 1998, the Adam Sandler comedy - set in 1985 - stars him as wedding singer Robbie Hart who falls in love with waitress Julia Sullivan (played by Drew Barrymore).

The film birthed the adorable song Grow Old With You as well as other 80s classics.

It was the first of three movies to see Drew and Adam star opposite each other, with the pair praised for their incredible chemistry.

While Adam and Drew remain huge Hollywood stars, we reveal what happened to other cast members who made the film such a success.

Christine Taylor, 51, played Julia’s sister Holly in The Wedding Singer - and went on to star in other hit comedy films Zoolander and Dodgeball, alongside husband Ben Stiller.

In 2017, after 17 years of marriage, she and Ben - who share two children - shocked fans when they announced they'd split.

However, after living together during the Covid pandemic, the two stars decided to give things another go.

Ben told Esquire last year that their relationship "evolved" over the course of time.

He said: "We were separated and got back together and we're happy about that. It's been really wonderful for all of us.

"Unexpected, and one of the things that came out of the pandemic."

Comedian Allen Covert, 58, played Robbie’s best friend Sammy.

He went on to work with co-star Adam on many other films, including Big Daddy, Little Nicky and Mr. Deeds.

In more recent years, Allen has been more behind the camera.

He has worked as a producer and co-writer on many of the films to have come out of Happy Madison Productions.

In The Wedding Singer, Angela Featherstone played Robbie’s fiancee Linda - who left him at the altar, leading him to perform the hilariously inappropriate song Love Stinks at a wedding.

Now 57, Angela has since scooped small parts in films and TV shows - including a memorable cameo in Friends.

She played “hot Xerox girl” Chloe, who slept with Ross Geller while he and Rachel Green were “on a break” - sparking fury among fans and leading her to be dubbed one of the sitcom's most hated characters.

Most recently she played the role of Maggie on Showtime's Ray Donovan and Jame on Girls for HBO.

Having emancipated herself from foster care at the age of 17, Angela is an advocate for children in the system and volunteers for foster care charities.

In 2021, she founded the non-profit healing school for youth ageing out of foster care, Fosteringcare.org.

She recently served as a consultant on Cracked Up, a Netflix documentary about the effects and healing of trauma.

Alexis Arquette played Robbie’s Boy George-obsessed wedding bandmate George Stitzer in The Wedding Singer - credited as her deadname Robert Arquette.

The sibling of David Arquette, she went on to have a cameo in Friends, alongside her sister-in-law at the time Courteney Cox.

In 2004, Alexis revealed she was undergoing a transition to female.

Her experience was documented in the film Alexis Arquette: She's My Brother, which debuted at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival

Tragically, Alexis - who contracted HIV in 1987 - died in 2016, at the age of 47, due to complications stemming from the disease.

Matthew Glave played Julia’s unfaithful fiance Glenn Guglia.

Now 59, the actor went on to appear in TV shows including Revenge, The Closer, and Hawaii Five-0.

He also appeared in the award-winning film Argo in 2012.

Most recently he starred as Tommy Flynn in Rebel, the TV comedy-drama inspired by Erin Brockovich.

Interestingly he also has a Friends connection, as his wife Anita Barone - with whom he shares two daughters - played Ross' lesbian wife Carol in season one.

Although Ellen Albertini Dow’s part in The Wedding Singer was very small, it’s one of the most memorable.

Elderly Rosie delighted fans with her rendition of The Sugarhill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight.

Following the film, Ellen had many cameos in comedy films, including Wedding Crashers and Road Trip, as well as TV shows Will & Grace, Family Guy and New Girl.

She was still acting until the age of 100 but, in 2015, Ellen died aged 101 after a battle with pneumonia.

Steve Buscemi isn’t even credited for his role as Dave Veltri in The Wedding Singer - despite singing Spandau Ballet’s hit True over the closing credits.

However, he’s actually one of its biggest stars. He's since landed roles in some huge movies, including Armageddon, Big Fish and the Big Lebowski.

His lead role on TV show Boardwalk Empire earned him a Golden Globe Award, as well as two Screen Actor's Guild Awards.

Now 65, he has also directed several films, as well as episodes of The Sopranos and 30 Rock.

Adam Sandler

Although Adam had starred in a few films before The Wedding Singer, this was arguably his biggest hit.

After starring in Happy Madison, he formed his film production company Happy Madison Productions in 1999, with his first release being Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalo.

The company has produced most of Adam’s films to date, with nearly all of them performing well at the box office despite receiving negative reviews from critics.

That changed in 2016 when he signed a deal with Netflix.

In 2019, he starred in the crime thriller drama Uncut Gems and received critical acclaim, with many calling it his career best. It bagged him an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.

Then, in 2022, he produced and starred in sports drama film Hustle.

Last year Adam, 56, was the victim of a hoax TikTok clip, claiming he’d died by drowning, but it was later revealed it was nothing but a “sick joke”.

Drew Barrymore

Drew was already well-known before starring in The Wedding Singer, having been a child star in ET as well as a string of hits in the 90s, like Batman Forever, Scream and Ever After.

She went on to appear in many hit films, including Never Been Kissed and Charlie’s Angels - plus another two with Adam, 50 First Dates and Blended.

More recently, Drew starred in the now-cancelled Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet and currently hosts talk show The Drew Barrymore Show.

On top of this she’s launched a range of cosmetics, eyewear, a clothing line and wines, all under her business Flower.

She had a difficult upbringing; in her 2015 tell-all book Wildflower she told how she battled alcohol addiction from the age of 11, and was hospitalised aged 13 after becoming hooked on marijuana and cocaine, which got her blacklisted (temporarily) from Hollywood.

At 14, spiralling Drew tried to take her own life - prompting another stay in rehab.

Around the same time she legally divorced her mum - who took her to New York’s infamous Studio 54 club, where Drew encountered drugs and danced with young stars at just 14. Her dad John was an alcoholic.

At 17 she posed nude with her then-fiance, actor Jamie Walters, for Interview magazine. After she appeared naked on the cover of Playboy in 1995, her godfather Steven Spielberg sent her a note telling her to "cover yourself up".

Drew was twice married - and divorced - by her mid 20s. Despite being married three times in total, Drew revealed in 2003 that she has always considered herself bisexual.

She split from third husband Will Kopelman, with whom she shares two children, in 2016.
