Valencia, 38, became a crucial player for the Red Devils after he was signed by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

He has since reunited with his former team-mate and club legend Wayne Rooney.

The two met up while in Washington, where Rooney, 37, is managing DC United.

The pair posed for a photo as the Englishman donned his DC tracksuit and Valencia rocked some jeans and a jacket.

Valencia posted the snap to his Instagram page with the caption: "What a joy to see my friend Wayne Rooney driving in Washington again.

"Keep going strong brother. Thanks, Wayne for the invitation.

"Happy to see my friend DC United in Washington. Keep going brother!"

And fans were stunned by Valencia's new look as they reacted to the snap on social media.

Valencia joined Manchester United from Wigan for a £16million fee.

During his time at Old Trafford, he won the Premier League twice as well as a FA Cup and Europe League.

The winger also collected three Community Shields during his time at the club.

In July, Valencia looked more jacked than ever as he had been hitting the gym since retiring.

He has since founded his own club in his native Ecuador called AV25 Club Deportivo.

They play in the second tier of Pichincha — a province in the country that has had its leagues endorsed by Ecuador’s FA.
